Dr. Ingrid Möller

Ingrid Möller is a Director and Consultant in Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sonography, Institut Poal de Reumatología Spain Professor at the masters program in Sonanatomy and Physiology of sport University of Barcelona. Assistant Professor in human anatomy at the University of Barcelona Organizer of the Sonoanatomy course (Under the scientific endorsement of EULAR) from 2007 Faculty of the Ultrasound school of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology Faculty at the EULAR courses of Ultrasound from 2006 Member of the EULAR Standing Committee of Musculoskeletal Imaging Level 3 EFSUMB.

Ingrid Möller was born on 16 May 1953. She is a practicing rheumatologist. Since 1997, Professor Ingrid Möller has continued to serve as a director and consultant in rheumatology and musculoskeletal sonography at the Institut Poal de Reumatología, Barcelona, Spain. She also is an assistant professor of anatomy, at the University of Barcelona.

Professor Möller is the organizer of the “Sonoanatomy Workshops” under the scientific endorsement of EULAR, as of 2007. Furthermore, Professor Möller is a member of faculty and co-director of the Sonoanatomy Master Program, and the Diploma of Experts in musculoskeletal ultrasound, from the University of Barcelona.

Additionally, Professor Möller serves as a faculty member of the Ultrasound School of the Spanish Society of Rheumatology, since 2002. George A.W. Bruyn

Bruyn, George A.W. was born on April 8, 1955 in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Son of George W. and Rosemary Bruyn. George A.W. Bruyn became a Dutch board-certified rheumatologist in 1989. From 1989 to 2009, he was a consultant rheumatologist with the Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden in Leeuwarden and the Antoniusziekenhuis in Sneek. As of 2009, he is Chair of the department of Rheumatology of MC Groep hospitals at Lelystad, the Netherlands. In 1991, he co-founded the Dutch Working group on Ultrasonography.

He is a founder of the Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography Study Group of the American College of Rheumatology (1999). Together with Dr Wolfgang Schmidt, he has been an instructor of the basic and advanced workshops in ultrasonography which are held during the annual meetings of the ACR from 1999-2010. In addition, Dr Bruyn is a member of the faculty of the EULAR ultrasound courses and is co-chair of the Sonography working group of OMERACT. Dr Bruyn (co)authored over 150 papers and book chapters in the field of rheumatology, including diagnostical and therapeutical aspects of osteoporosis, inflammatory disease and musculoskeletal ultrasonography. George A.W. Bruyn has been listed as a noteworthy rheumatologist by Marquis Who's Who.


Dr. Richard J Wakefield

Dr Richard Wakefield is the Ultrasound and Undergraduate Education Lead for the Leeds Institute of Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal Medicine, and Chair for Undergraduate Ultrasound Education, Leeds School of Medicine, University of Leeds, UK. He is a member of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) and OMERACT (Outcome Measures in Rheumatology) Ultrasound Working Groups. He qualified from the University of Southampton in 1991. Joined the department in 1997 as a research fellow with the aim of exploring the value of ultrasound in the investigation of patients with inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions. After becoming a lecturer and later senior lecturer, He gained MD from the University of Leeds in 2006. His work has contributed to the development of international standards for acquiring and scoring images for the evaluation of joint diseases. Alongside other imaging techniques such as MRI, his work has contributed to departmental work exploring methods for the early diagnosis and accurate monitoring of inflammation and joint damage across a range of diseases. He is the ultrasound research lead for the Leeds Biomedical Research Centre (LBRC) and as such support and develop the use of ultrasound and other imaging techniques for clinical trials.

In recent years he had taken an increasing educational role within his institute and hospital with respect to leadership and delivery of teaching. He led the 5th year musculoskeletal teaching for the School of Medicine and a new medical undergraduate training program in ultrasound. Dr Wakefield has published more than 160 papers on imaging-related subjects, written several book chapters on ultrasound and co-edited the first EULAR-sponsored ultrasound book, Applications of Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Rheumatology. He was the co-coordinator of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Musculoskeletal Ultrasound Group (2003–2005), and co-chair of the OMERACT Ultrasound Special Interest Group (2004–2012).


Prof Ved Prakash Chaturvedi

Professor Ved Chaturvedi MD.DM is a Professor of Rheumatology & Immunology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital & PG Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Prof. Chaturvedi is also ex president, Indian Rheumatology association, ex President, Delhi Rheumatology Association , ex HOD, Rheumatology Research & Referral Hospital new Delhi, and ex vice president, MSK Ultrasound Society of India.

Currently he is an editor of prestigious Manual of Rheumatology. And first Rheumatologist in India: to use new therapy for arthritis called Biologics since 2000 and to establish MSK Ultrasound & Medical Arthroscopy in 2003.


Dr Zunaid Karim

Dr. Zunaid Karim is a consultant rheumatologist and head of Clinical Service at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians. He graduated from the University College Dublin in 1993 and moved to Leeds in 1998 as a research fellow before completing his specialist training. His MD thesis is on the role of Ultrasonography in rheumatology practice.

He is the Treasurer of the British Society of Rheumatology (BSR), ex-convener of the BSR Specialist Interest Group in Ultrasound, and a member of the European League Against Rheumatism (EULAR) Standing Committee of Musculoskeletal Imaging.   Dr. Karim is a European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology level-3, accredited sonographer and a regular tutor on EULAR and BSR accredited ultrasound courses.   He is an European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology level-3 accredited sonographer and a regular tutor on EULAR and BSR accredited ultrasound courses.


Prof. Minhaj Rahim Choudhury

Dr. Minhaj Rahim Choudhury currently working as Professor & Chairman, department of rheumatology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined in the University in 2003, before that he served as Assistant Professor & Associate Professor in Shaheed Suhrawardi Hospital and Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka from 1999 to 2003. He worked as clinical and research fellow in the Royal Free Hospital, University College, medical School, hampstead health, U.K. in 2002. He became fellow of American College of Rheumatology in 2006. Prof. Choudhury served as Resident physician (Medicine) from 1996-1998. He did his MBBS from Sir Salimullah Medical College in 1984. He obtained MD in 1995 and FCPS in 1996.

Prof. Choudhury is now serving as Secretary General of Bangladesh Rheumatology Society. He has authored and co-authored of numerous scientific articles in national and international journals and presented several scientific papers in home and abroad. He attended several basic and advanced Musculoskeletal Ultrasound courses in USA, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Philippines organized and accredited by American College of Rheumatism (EULAR) and Asia Pacific League of Association for Rheumatology (APLAR).

Dr. A.K.M. Zahir Ahmed

Dr. A.K.M. Zahir Ahmed now working as a consultant Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography at Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital & Module General Hospital Dhaka also involved as course coordinator of Musculoskeletal International workshop at BSMMU, Dhaka. He obtained MBBS degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC) in 1982, DNM (Diploma in Nuclear Medicine) in 1997 from INM (Institute of Nuclear Medicine, now NINMAS), in 2004, DTCD (Diploma in Tuberculosis & Chest Disease) from NIDCH (National Institute of Chest & Hospital).

He is Specially trained in Color Doppler Ultrasonography from INM, Dhaka. He has been working as an instructor of MSK ultrasonography for residence phase-B Rheumatology since 2014.
